Q. How has the program made an impact on your professional life?
A. This program has helped me gain many new and exciting resources for teaching along with understanding exactly WHY I teach WHAT I teach. I learn not only from my instructors and assignments but also from the knowledge and experience of my classmates.
Q. What do you think the program's greatest strengths are?
A. The online format allows for flexible learning, interaction with students from afar, the understanding of on-line learning and its benefits (as this is certainly the wave of the future), the knowledge and compassion of the teachers and the institution as a whole. Your greatest concern is for your students and getting the most from their educational experience. Many post-secondary institutions are greatly lacking this quality and it makes a huge difference as a mature student who is working full time, has a family and many other commitments that sometimes we are allowed to have some flexibility in our assignments in order to complete them with quality rather than having to just submit them in order to not lose marks.
Q. Describe your experience with the faculty?
A. The faculty has overall been great. They have been accessible, have good knowledge of the course material, worked with us to assist us in learning, and willing to go that extra mile when we as students need some guidance and assistance.
Q. Describe your experience with the program overall?
A. It has been a great experience from the first inquiry, the application process, registration, the courses and moving forward. All of your staff are friendly and student focused and willing to help in any way.
Q. How has this program helped you in your career?
A. This program has opened many doors for me as a teacher and in reaching my goals as being an educational leader in a post-secondary institute. Having this degree will give me the credentials to achieve my career aspirations and I look forward to continuing on with my Doctorate. Interestingly enough, your institution is easily recognized here in Canada and well respected by my colleagues and the higher ups (Chair, Dean, VP Academic).
Q. What made you decide to choose Saint Xavier University?
A. The flexibility of the on-line program in order to achieve my goals along with your staff. From the start, I was made to feel like you really wanted to me attend and that I was important, not only as a student, but as a person. Other institutions did not offer that and to me, that is a key factor. Also, the strength of the program, the courses and the focus of the degree fit with my career goals.
Q. What would you say to prospective students who have yet to decide to enroll in this Saint Xavier University program?
A. The University is a great place to be (even on-line!), the courses are interesting, educational and applicable to our jobs and teaching careers, instructors are knowledgeable and are willing to work with their students to make the educational experience positive and enriching and the staff at St. Xavier is more than willing to help in any way. The flexibility of the on-line program along with all of the other benefits listed above will provide a fun, interesting and valuable educational experience.
