On-Campus Experience

NURSG 502 - Advanced Health Assessment with Adults (3)
This three-day residency at SXU’s Chicago area campus is designed to help students hone their skills in clinical interviewing, focused history-taking, and advanced physical assessment. The course builds on students’ existing knowledge and experience and promotes a holistic view of patients that incorporates their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

 The residency will be held on a Friday evening through Sunday morning during the second half of the course. Activities and tasks include:

  • Practice of physical assessment skills
  • Competency testing in physical assessment skills
  • Discussion of Clinical Nurse Leader role and expectations for practicum
  • Initial planning for Clinical Nurse Leader project
